The Municipality of Greenstone has an intact male dog in care that was found in the Geraldton Ward. Please call 807-854-1100 to claim. The dog will be kept in care with the Municipality for up to 72 hours.

The Municipality of Greenstone is pleased to announce the installation of accessible beach mats at three municipal beaches, improving access to waterfront recreation for residents and visitors of all abilities. This project was approved by Council through the Municipality's 2026 Capital Budget and is funded through the 2025 - 2026 Enhancing Access to Spaces for Everyone Grant.

The Municipality of Greenstone advises residents that the Brush Cutting and Vegetation Control Project is scheduled to resume. Work will take place Geraldton (various locations, primarily along snowmobile trails) and Jellicoe (the North-South Cut). The project is expected to be completed by the end of August 2026. Please stay clear of active work zones. Hazards include moving equipment, falling trees, and other forestry-related activities.

Culvert replacement work on Sakamoto Road will begin the morning of Thursday, July 23, 2026. To safely complete the work, the road will be fully closed for up to three hours while the culvert is replaced.

The Municipality of Greenstone is inviting sealed tenders for the purchase and redevelopment of the surplus property municipally known as 66 Main Street, Jellicoe, Ontario. The property is being offered for sale on an “as-is, where-is” basis through a public tender process intended to encourage redevelopment and productive reuse of the site. Tenders will be accepted until August 12, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.

As part of the Main Street Reconstruction Project, a temporary water service interruption is required on Queen Avenue in Geraldton to complete work on the municipal watermain. The water shutdown is scheduled to begin early in the morning on Thursday, July 23rd and is expected to last approximately 1–2 hours, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

The Municipality of Greenstone is pleased to announce the restoration of the iconic Beardmore Snowman, helping preserve one of the community's most recognizable landmarks. Approved by Council through the 2026 Municipal Capital Budget, the project was also supported through 75% funding from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), demonstrating a shared commitment to preserving important community assets. Construction is scheduled to begin on July 22.
