Water Shut-Off Notice – Hamel Avenue, Longlac

As part of the ongoing Hamel Avenue infrastructure project, the Municipality of Greenstone would like to advise businesses in the affected area of a planned water shut-off on Thursday morning, August 27, 2026.

The shut-off is required to install a new water valve near the Longlac Fire Hall. Businesses within the affected section of Hamel Avenue will experience a temporary interruption to water service while this work is completed.

A second valve, located approximately 120 metres from the first, is also scheduled to be installed. Depending on the progress of Thursday’s work, this installation may take place on Friday, August 28 and is expected to affect only businesses on the north side of Hamel Avenue.

Affected businesses will also be notified individually so they may prepare for the shut-off.

Crews will work to complete the installations and restore water service as quickly as possible. Timelines may change depending on conditions encountered during the work.

The Municipality appreciates the patience and cooperation of affected businesses while this important infrastructure work is completed.
