  • Four New Fire Trucks Strengthen Emergency Response Across Greenstone

    The Municipality of Greenstone continues to invest in reliable emergency services with the addition of four new fire apparatus to its fleet.

    Earlier this year, a new tanker, funded through the Municipality's 2025 Capital Budget, was received and placed into service in April. The Municipality has now also taken delivery of three new pumper/tanker fire trucks, funded through the 2026 Capital Budget. Together, these investments represent a significant step forward in modernizing Greenstone's fire fleet and ensuring firefighters have the equipment they need to respond safely and effectively across the municipality.

    The new fire apparatus will be strategically placed at fire stations throughout Greenstone, ensuring reliable emergency response capabilities across the Municipality's large geographic area while replacing aging equipment.

  • Lakeside Centre Boat Launch - Closed Saturday, July 18

    The Lakeside Centre Boat Launch in the Longlac Ward will be closed on Saturday, July 18th until 5:00 p.m. due to Summerfest activities taking place in the area.

  • Forest Fire Update: July 16, 2026 (3)

    The Municipality of Greenstone has received the latest wildfire update from the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR).

    The wildfires near Greer and Nakina remain very well contained. Fire crews continue suppression efforts. Air attack resources were also utilized today to assist with suppression activities.

    Fire intensity levels have decreased on both wildfires.

    The Municipality will continue to monitor the situation closely and share updates from the Ministry of Natural Resources as they become available. Residents are reminded to stay clear of active fire areas and follow any direction provided by emergency personnel.
