  • UPDATED Water Conservation Notice – Longlac Ward

    The Municipality of Greenstone is requesting that all residents and businesses in the Longlac Ward voluntarily reduce their water consumption while staff complete the commissioning of the first filter in the new filtration system at the Longlac Water Treatment Plant. 

    The exact length of the conservation request is yet to be determined. Project engineers will inform the Municipality when the conservation can be lifted. At this time the expectation is 1-2 weeks.

  • Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek and Greenstone Join National Economic Development Initiative
    Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek and the Municipality of Greenstone are proud to announce their participation in the Community Economic Development Initiative (CEDI), a national program delivered jointly by Cando (the Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers) and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM). CEDI seeks to support First Nations and neighbouring municipalities to build respectful and equitable partnerships, and to develop capacity for long-term planning for joint community economic development and land use.

  • Greenstone Seniors Active Living Centre – Longlac Update

    Following the recent announcement regarding the temporary closure of the Greenstone Seniors Active Living Centre (SALC) - Longlac, the Municipality is pleased to advise that SALC programming continues for Longlac residents.

    To ensure participants can continue enjoying programs and staying connected, virtual and in-person programs in Geraldton will be offered while the Municipality recruits a new SALC Coordinator for the Longlac Centre. Free transportation from Longlac will be provided for all in-person programs in Geraldton. Be sure to watch for the monthly SALC newsletters to stay up to date on upcoming activities and schedules!
