This dog is no longer in the care of the Municipality.

The Municipality of Greenstone has a dog in care that was found running at large in the Geraldton Ward. Please call 807-854-1100 to claim. The dog will be kept in care with the Municipality for up to 72 hours. 

Please be advised that garbage collection in the Geraldton Ward has been delayed slightly today due to a truck issue.

A preliminary investigation into the recent fire at the Longlac Sportsplex has identified extensive structural damage to portions of the roof.

We understand the importance of this facility to the community and will do our best to keep the public informed as more information becomes available. Thorough investigations take time, and we appreciate your patience as this process continues.

At this time, no further details or timelines for repairs or reopening are available. Additional updates will be shared as they are confirmed.

CFNO radio reception in Longlac has been restored.

Due to the recent fire at the Longlac Arena, CFNO radio reception in the area may be impacted. Residents experiencing issues are encouraged to tune in online at cfno.fm to continue receiving updates and programming.

TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Greenstone at its meeting held on April 13, 2026 at the Council Chambers, 1800 Main Street, Geraldton Ward, Municipality of Greenstone, ON, directed staff to proceed with the Sale of Land located in the Geraldton Ward of the Municipality of Greenstone in accordance with Section 270(1) of the Municipal Act, 2001 and Public Notice Policy 25-56;

A fire broke out overnight at the Longlac Sportsplex, causing damage to a section of the building before being extinguished.

The Municipality of Greenstone would like to advise residents that construction will soon begin at the Geraldton Community Centre. During this period, access to certain areas of the facility will be limited over the coming months.

Applications for seasonal campsites at Poplar Lodge Park and Cordingley Lake Campground are now open! All applications must be submitted no later than 3:00 p.m. on May 1/26. 

The Municipality of Greenstone has initiated Application ZBLA 2026-01 for a Zoning By-Law Amendment. A Public Meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 27, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.

All Municipal offices and facilities will be closed on Fri April 3rd and Mon April 6th due to the Easter statutory holidays. Garbage collection normally scheduled for Friday and Monday has been rescheduled, please refer to the Garbage Collection Calendar.
