All Municipal offices and facilities will be closed on Mon May 18th due to the Victoria Day holiday. Garbage collection normally scheduled for Monday has been rescheduled to Tuesday.

The Municipality of Greenstone has partnered with Matawa First Nation to host an Animal Wellness Vet Clinic. This Clinic is being held from May 26-31, 2026 at the Long Lake #58 First Nation Hall and is open to Greenstone Residents. Registration is now open.

May 5th is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S), also known as Red Dress Day. On this day, we honour the memory of Indigenous women, girls and two-spirit individuals who have gone missing or have been found murdered in communities across Canada. In Greenstone, local organizations are marking the day with community events on May 5, 2026.

Feeding wildlife is prohibited in the Municipality of Greenstone. Our local by-law clearly states that no person shall feed, or allow the feeding of, wild animals or place food out for them.

Both Day Care Centres in Geraldton and Longlac, and the EarlyON Centre in Geraldton are closed today due to the power outage. Both Seniors Active Living Centres in Geraldton and Longlac are closed due to the power outage and will resume programming once power has been restored.

TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Greenstone at its meeting held on April 27, 2026 at the Council Chambers, 1800 Main Street, Geraldton Ward, Municipality of Greenstone, ON, directed staff to proceed with the Direct Sale of Land located in the Longlac Ward of the Municipality of Greenstone in accordance with Section 270(1) of the Municipal Act, 2001 and Public Notice Policy 25-56;

The Municipality of Greenstone advises residents and businesses that the Nakina Landfill hours of operation will be changing effective Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
