Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event
September 24 & 25, 2026
The Municipality of Greenstone is hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Event for residents to safely dispose of eligible household hazardous waste on Thursday, September 24, 2026 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Geraldton Public Works Yard (located at 210 First Avenue NW) and on Friday, September 25, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Longlac Landfill Site (Crib Road via Blueberry Road).
When you bring your materials, ensure they are identifiable with product labels intact. Acceptable materials include:
- Antifreeze
- Fertilizers
- Fluorescent light bulbs
- Manufactured lubricating oil containers that have a capacity of 30 litres or less
- Paints and coatings
- Pesticides
- Pressurized containers
- Single-use dry cell batteries
- Solvents
- Used oil filters
