Verified unofficial 2026 Municipal and School Board Election results are now available! Certified Election Results will be released in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act  following Voting Day.

Today is the last day to cast your vote. Eligible voters can cast their ballot online or by telephone until 8 p.m. tonight, October 26th by using the information found in your Voter Information Letter (VIL). If you didn't receive your VIL in the mail, visit a Voter Help Centre for assistance before 8 p.m.

Residents are welcome to view the unofficial results live online or join us at the Greenstone Administration Office in person for the unofficial results which will be released after the close of voting. We expect to go live around 8:30 p.m. Certified election results will be posted on Tuesday. Please see the full news release for details.

The Longlac Sportsplex will reopen Friday, October 16, for regular programming as outlined in the schedule. All facility users must enter and exit through the south entrance. Please park accordingly and ensure the south entrance always remains clear and accessible. Restoration and construction work is ongoing. Facility users are asked to follow all posted signage and directions while work continues.

Renovations to the Longlac Fire Station are slated to begin shortly. This capital project is for work to the front of the building to accommodate modern size and configuration fire apparatus to utilize the building space to it's potential. The new fire truck PUMP 5 assigned to Longlac Station has been put into service today and is ready to respond to emergency calls in our communities! 

The Geraldton Community Centre will be open today, Tuesday, October 13, for regular programming as outlined in the schedule. All facility users must enter and exit through the west entrance. Please park accordingly and ensure the west entrance always remains clear and accessible. The wheelchair-accessible viewing area is currently unavailable due to ongoing renovations.

UPDATE - OCWA has confirmed that a water shutoff will occur today, Wednesday, October 14 for Queen Ave. and King Ave and is expected to last for up to 3 hours. AN additional shutoff will occur tomorrow which will affect Edith Ave. and homes South of the Town Bridge.

Notices were delivered to residences yesterday.

A break in the waterline at the corner of Main Street and John Avenue in the Geraldton Ward has been detected. Emergency locates have been requested and crews will be making repairs once locates are received. Water service to John Avenue has been shut off while crews await locates and perform repairs.

All Municipal offices and facilities will be closed on Mon Oct 12th due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Garbage collection normally scheduled for Monday has been rescheduled to Tuesday.

♻️ New recycling bin delivery begins October 17.
♻️ Curbside recycling collection begins November 23.

Residents will be able to place accepted recyclable materials at the curb for regular collection, including paper, plastic, glass, metal packaging and more.
