As part of the ongoing Hamel Avenue infrastructure project, the Municipality of Greenstone would like to advise businesses in the affected area of a planned water shut-off on Thursday morning, August 27, 2026.
The Municipality of Greenstone is advising residents and businesses in the Longlac Ward that the voluntary water conservation request is now lifted. Residents may resume normal water use.
TAKE NOTICE that the number of certified candidates for Office of the English Language Public Trustee (All Wards) and the Office of English Language Separate Trustee (Rural West, Geraldton, Beardmore and Nakina Wards) were not sufficient to fill the number of vacancies to which candidates may be elected. The Municipality of Greenstone would like to advise residents that work on the Hamel Avenue Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project will begin on Tues Aug 25/26 and is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete. The project will replace the sanitary sewer system located between the Longlac Fire Hall and the Municipal Public Works Garage. The existing infrastructure has been identified as requiring replacement as part of the Municipality’s ongoing efforts to maintain reliable wastewater infrastructure.
Animbiigoo Zaagi’igan Anishinaabek (AZA) and the Municipality of Greenstone are pleased to announce the signing of a Municipal Services Agreement that will provide fire protection services to the AZA community through Greenstone Fire & Emergency Services. The agreement represents an important commitment to community safety, ensuring AZA has access to trained firefighters, equipment and emergency response resources when fire protection services are required.
