We are aware of an active forest fire Southeast of Longlac and Ginoogaming, between Hwy 11 and Caramat. The MNRF is actively actioning this fire. To report any new forest fires - call 911 for fires within the communities, and 310-FIRE (3473) for forest fires outside of the communities.

Crews will be digging test holes and excavation areas at specific locations along Main Street as part of upcoming construction activities. Please travel with caution and be aware of all posted signage, traffic control devices, and safety barriers in the work zone.

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Greenstone will hold a Statutory Public Meeting in order to consider an application for the extension of Temporary Use By-law 23-35 pursuant to the requirements of Section 39 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P. 13, as amended. The Public Meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the Greenstone Administration Office, 1800 Main Street, Geraldton, Ontario. TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Greenstone will hold a Statutory Public Meeting in order to consider a Zoning By-law Amendment pursuant to the requirements of Section 34(12) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P. 13, as amended. The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the Greenstone Administration Office, 1800 Main Street, Geraldton, Ontario. The meeting agenda will be posted by Monday, June 22, 2026.

517 Main Street, Geraldton Ward

The Municipality of Greenstone has received an application for a Minor Variance that would allow the construction of a new single detached dwelling at 42 Rintas Road. The Owners require the Authority of the Committee of Adjustment for minor variances from Zoning By-law 23-77.

Contractors are preparing to begin work on the Geraldton Main Street Rehabilitation Project. The work zone extends from south of the Municipal Administration Building to Benner Ave, with the first phase focusing on the section from Edith Ave northward to Queen Ave. Work will move northward in approx. 200–300m sections to reduce disruptions to residents, businesses, and traffic.
