Capital Project Update - Municipal Fleet Investments Support Reliable Service Delivery
The Municipality of Greenstone continues to invest in modern, reliable equipment with the delivery of several fleet assets approved through the 2026 Municipal Capital Budget.
The Municipality has now received the following equipment:
- Cat 140 Grader
- Cat D3 Dozer
- Genie Man Lift
- Steamer
- Street Sweeper
The Combination Plow remains on order and is expected to be delivered by the end of August.
These fleet investments will support a wide range of municipal operations, including road maintenance, winter operations, facility maintenance, construction projects, and public works activities. Replacing aging equipment with modern, efficient machinery improves reliability, enhances operator safety, reduces maintenance costs, and helps ensure municipal services continue to be delivered effectively across Greenstone's large geographic area.
To date, all fleet purchases have been delivered under their approved budget allocations, demonstrating the Municipality's commitment to responsible financial management while maximizing the value of taxpayer investments. Any remaining funds will be reported as part of the Municipality's regular capital budget monitoring process and may be available to support other approved capital priorities or allocated to Fleet/Equipment reserve funds at year end, subject to Council approval.
This continued investment in modern fleet equipment supports safe, efficient, and reliable municipal services for residents throughout Greenstone.
