🚧Geraldton Main Street Rehabilitation Project Update🚧
Construction Season Wrap-Up
The Municipality of Greenstone advises residents that construction activities associated with the Geraldton Main Street Rehabilitation Project will be wrapping up for the current season over the next two weeks.
During this period, crews will be completing work to prepare Main Street for the winter months, including:
- Traffic Management: Traffic will once again be temporarily redirected as required to accommodate construction activities.
- Asphalt Placement: A layer of asphalt will be applied to the roadway in preparation for winter.
- Road Transitions: Transitions between Main Street and connecting side roads will be repaired to provide smoother and safer access.
- Site Cleanup: All temporary construction fencing, barriers and related materials will be removed for the winter season.
Motorists and pedestrians are asked to continue exercising caution, following posted signage, and obeying the directions of traffic control light and personnel while this work is underway.
Construction will resume in the spring of 2027, as soon as weather conditions permit.
Thank You for Your Patience!
The Municipality of Greenstone sincerely thanks residents, businesses and motorists for their patience, understanding, and cooperation throughout this construction season. We recognize that the project has resulted in disruptions and inconveniences, and we greatly appreciate the community's continued support as we work toward improving this important roadway and its underground infrastructure.
The Geraldton Main Street Rehabilitation Project is being undertaken with financial support from the Province of Ontario through the Ministry of Transportation.
