The Municipality of Greenstone has not yet received a confirmed start date for the implementation of Ontario’s new curbside recycling program in Greenstone, despite earlier public messaging that regional and northern communities would transition by January 1, 2026.

The Municipality of Greenstone has declared the end of the Significant Weather Event under Policy 23-82.

The phone lines have been restored at the Longlac Ward Office and the Public Works Garage in Longlac.

In recognition of Statutory Holidays during the Christmas Season, residential garbage collection has been rescheduled for December 25 and 26, 2025, and January 1, 2026.

The Municipality of Greenstone, with provincial funding through Firesmart Community Implementation Grants Program (FCGP) 2024-2025, is reducing vegetation in key areas to lower wildfire risk.

Additional skating programming has been added for Sat Dec 6/25 at the Longlac Sportsplex.

2nd Ave NE in the Geraldton Ward will be closed on December 3, 2025 until approximately 6:00 p.m. to allow staff to make repairs to water infrastructure.
