Grass Cutting Reminder - Clean Yards By-Law

The Municipality of Greenstone reminds all property owners and occupants to keep grass and vegetation properly maintained throughout the growing season.

Under the Clean Yards By-law, grass on most properties must be kept at a height of 20 cm (8 inches) or less. Regular mowing helps keep neighbourhoods clean, safe, and attractive while reducing potential health and safety concerns.

Residents are also responsible for ensuring vegetation does not become overgrown or obstruct sidewalks, roads, sightlines, or utilities.

Failure to comply with the Clean Yards By-law may result in an Order being issued, municipal work being completed at the property owner's expense, and fines or penalties under the Provincial Offences Act.
