Work continues at theLonglac Sportsplex and Geraldton Community Centre in preparation for the upcoming season. The arena portion of the Longlac Sportsplex is expected to open by the end of next week, with some areas remaining inaccessible while work continues. A further update on the Geraldton Community Centre will be provided next week.
The Beardmore and Nakina Curling Clubs are currently expected to open on schedule.

All Municipal offices and facilities will be closed on Mon Oct 12th due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Garbage collection normally scheduled for Monday has been rescheduled to Tuesday.
The Municipality of Greenstone was pleased to host the year-end Youth Soccer Wind-Up celebrations in the communities of Geraldton on Monday, Sept 21st and Longlac on Tuesday, Sept 22nd. This year's season welcomed a total of 61 youth participants, including 23 in Geraldton and 38 in Longlac. A sincere thank you goes out to our incredible volunteer coaches who dedicated their time and energy to making this season possible!
Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) will be performing fall maintenance by flushing hydrants and exercising valves throughout Greenstone beginning Thursday, October 1st, for approximately 2½ weeks.
The Municipality of Greenstone is advising residents that an emergency response exercise will be taking place at the Nakina Airport today, September 23.
Residents may notice an increased presence of emergency response vehicles and personnel in and around the airport during the exercise.
This is a planned training exercise. There is no emergency, and no action is required from the public.
