Take notice that a Special Meeting of Council has been called for Monday, July 20, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. The Meeting will be closed to the Public subject to subsection 239(2)(h) of the Municipal Act, 2001.
The Municipality of Greenstone continues to closely monitor the wildfire situation affecting the Nakina Ward.
Municipal Emergency Management staff are receiving regular updates from the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) and remain in close communication with Emergency Management Ontario.
The wildfire remains a high priority for the MNR. Fire crews and aircraft continue suppression, and resources will remain on the fire until it is fully contained and extinguished. The MNR advises that the fire is responding well to suppression efforts.
The Municipality of Greenstone continues to monitor the evolving forest fire situation across Northwestern Ontario in coordination with our emergency management partners.
Remember, a Restricted Fire Zone is now in effect, meaning all open-air burning, including campfires, is prohibited.

The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) has announced that a Restricted Fire Zone (RFZ) will be in effect for the Northwest Region and portions of the Northeast Region, including the Municipality of Greenstone, beginning Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 12:01 a.m. (local time).

The Municipality of Greenstone has received an application for a Minor Variance that would allow the construction of a Yurt at 22 Rintas Road. The Owners require the Authority of the Committee of Adjustment for minor variances from Zoning By-law 23-77.
