  • Municipal Closures - National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

    September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

    The Every Child Matters flag will be raised September 29, and municipal offices will close September 30.

    Tuesday garbage collection moves to Monday, September 29.

    The Council of the Municipality of Greenstone hereby proclaims and commits to recognizing September 30th, 2025, as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by sharing the stories of residential school survivors, their families, and communities.

  • Franco-Ontarian Day – Flag Raising

    The Municipality of Greenstone will join communities across Ontario in recognizing Franco-Ontarian Day by raising the Franco-Ontarian flag.

  • Yard Waste Collection Reminder

    The Municipality would like to remind residents that By-law 09-48 provides for the collection of tree branches, leaves, grass cuttings, and yard trimmings year-round.

    The Municipality has received multiple reports of bear activity in residential areas. While we understand residents may be tempted to feed wildlife, feeding bears is dangerous.

    The hydrant flushing in the Longlac Ward has been rescheduled for Tuesday, October 14 to Friday, October 17th.

    The Municipality of Greenstone would like to remind community groups and event organizers that applications for grants, staffing support, and municipal resources (including facilities) must be submitted for approval before your event takes place.
