September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The Every Child Matters flag will be raised September 29, and municipal offices will close September 30.

The Council of the Municipality of Greenstone hereby proclaims and commits to recognizing September 30th, 2025, as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by sharing the stories of residential school survivors, their families, and communities.

The Municipality of Greenstone will join communities across Ontario in recognizing Franco-Ontarian Day by raising the Franco-Ontarian flag.

The Municipality would like to remind residents that By-law 09-48 provides for the collection of tree branches, leaves, grass cuttings, and yard trimmings year-round.

The Municipality has received multiple reports of bear activity in residential areas. While we understand residents may be tempted to feed wildlife, feeding bears is dangerous.

The Council of the Municipality of Greenstone, do hereby proclaim September 25th of each year as Franco-Ontarian Day and join the Francophone community of Greenstone in celebrating its exceptional contribution to Ontario's growth and prosperity.

The Snow Windrow Removal Program in effect for the 2025-2026 winter season provides support based on financial need.

Upgrades to Old Arena Road in the Geraldton Ward are scheduled to begin on Monday, September 22, 2025.

The hydrant flushing in the Longlac Ward has been rescheduled for Tuesday, October 14 to Friday, October 17th.
