The Municipality of Greenstone is advising residents that garbage pickup in Geraldton has been delayed today, Wednesday, November 19, due to an unexpected mechanical issue with the community’s garbage truck.
At the October 27, 2025 Regular Meeting of Council, Greenstone Council voted to end the Specialized Transit Program effective January 1, 2026, following a review that found low ridership and high operating costs made the service unsustainable.

UPDATE Sunday, October 19 - The Longlac Sportsplex will open Monday, October 20, 2025. Regular ice schedules for both the Geraldton Community Centre and the Longlac Sportsplex will take effect on Monday.
