Due to extreme fire hazard across the Greenstone Region, a Municipal Fire Ban is in effect at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday July 12, 2026.

Crack sealing on the municipal portion of Hwy 584, just north of the airport, will begin Sat. July 11th and continue over the next two days. Please expect minor traffic delays and follow all posted signage and traffic control measures.

The Municipality of Greenstone has received an application for a Minor Variance that would allow the construction of a Yurt at 22 Rintas Road. The Owners require the Authority of the Committee of Adjustment for minor variances from Zoning By-law 23-77.

The Municipality of Greenstone continues to advance its Waste Management Environmental Assessment (EA) to identify a long-term waste management solution for the region. This provincially regulated process evaluates potential environmental impacts and includes engineering studies, public consultation, and Indigenous consultation.

Residents are advised that blasting operations will begin today and are expected to continue for approximately one week. Up to three blasts per day are anticipated. Motorists should expect additional traffic delays and temporary two-way lane closures during blast operations.

Residents are advised that the work zone is being extended further north to accommodate blasting operations and asphalt removal. As a result, Queen Ave in the Geraldton Ward will be closed at Main St. Local traffic may access Queen Ave via East St.

Residents are advised that blasting activities may begin as early as today and will continue periodically over the next few weeks as part of the ongoing Main Street construction project.

Construction crews are removing asphalt within the fenced work area on Main Street.

During this work, traffic will be temporarily shifted onto the boulevard for a short section of the roadway. Please follow all posted signs, traffic signals, and directions from traffic control personnel.

The Municipality of Greenstone has a male dog in care that was found east of Beardmore. Please call 807-854-1100 to claim. The dog will be kept in care with the Municipality for up to 72 hours.
