Municipality of Greenstone Engages Ministers at AMO Conference

Representatives from the Municipality of Greenstone attended the annual Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Conference, meeting with several key provincial ministers to advocate for local priorities and highlight issues of importance to the community.

Greenstone officials had delegations with:

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

The Municipality of Greenstone is hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Event on Thursday September 11 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Geraldton Public Works Yard (210 First Avenue NW) and on Friday September 12 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Longlac Landfill Site (Crib Road via Blueberry Road).

When you bring your materials, ensure they are identifiable with product labels intact. Acceptable materials include:

  • Antifreeze
  • Fertilizers
  • Fluorescent light bulbs
  • Manufactured lubricating oil...

Municipal Closures - Labour Day

Please be advised that all municipal offices, facilities and landfills will be closed on Monday September 1, 2025 due to Labour Day.

Garbage collection that normally occurs on Monday has been rescheduled to Tuesday September 2 2025.

We thank you for your understanding. Municipal Council and Staff wish all residents a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!

Public Meeting Notice: Redesign of Main Street - Geraldton Ward

The Municipality of Greenstone invites residents, business owners, and community members to attend a public meeting to review and discuss proposed design concepts for Main Street in the Geraldton Ward, and to provide feedback on the proposed redesign of the intersection at Main Street and 1st Ave. 

Engineers will be on hand to present the plans, answer questions, and gather your feedback.
