Recreation Programs

Public skating is free for everyone. Come out as a family or bring a friend and enjoy an evening skate this season. It is a great way to remain active, beat the winter blues and have fun. There will be music to keep you moving throughout.

Weekly PUBLIC SKATING Schedule and Locations:

Parents and tots is free for everyone. This program is geared towards those who are just beginning to skate. It's a great way to go on the ice with your child and teach them how to skate and have fun. Skatemates will be available which help your child skate as it stabilizes them and gets them used to standing on the ice with skates.

WEEKLY PARENT AND TOTS SCHEDULE AND LOCATIONS:

Shinny is for those who want to improve their hockey skills outside of minor hockey. It's a great way to burn some energy and have fun with your friends! A shinny pass and a Code of Conduct form (which must be signed by an adult) is required prior to stepping on the ice. Shinny passes can be used at all of our Greenstone arenas.

WEEKLY SHINNY SCHEDULE AND LOCATIONS:

Purchase a Shinny Pass  

Participants will learn the basic fundamentals of skating while developing their coordination and motor skills. Learn to Skate programming is subject to sufficient volunteer coaches and participants. Open to children ages 3 to 6 years old. Spaces will be filled on a first come - first paid basis.

Insurance is required for all rental types. Rates will be provided at time of booking.

On Ice Rental Availability:

Geraldton - Saturdays from 5:00 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. 

Longlac - Saturdays from 4:30 p.m. to 5:20 p.m.

Please note that any staff overtime costs will be the responsibility of the renter.

Geraldton

Every Tuesday beginning on July 30 and ending on September 17 2024 (once a week for 8 weeks) at the Baseball Field at the Community Centre. 

Group schedule:

2021-2017            Tuesdays from 6:00 - 6:50 p.m.

2016-2013            Tuesdays from 7:00 - 7:50 p.m.

Longlac

Every Tuesday/Wednesday beginning on July 30/31 and ending on September 17/18 2024 (once a week for 8 weeks) at the Jeff Gauthier Baseball Field. 

Group schedule:

2021-2017            Tuesdays from 6:00 - 6:50 p.m.

2016-2013            Wednesdays from 6:00 - 6:50 p.m.

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 2:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for 1 week

Cost: $15.00

Maximum of 16 participants.
