The Expanded Residential Curbside Collection Days are scheduled annually to assist with the disposal of large and bulky waste items.  This program is for residential properties only.

Collection will be conducted by Public Works on your REGULAR GARBAGE DAY during the scheduled week for your Ward.

SCHEDULE for collection
  • GERALDTON: May 13 - May 17
  • MAY 20 - Statutory Holiday - No Collection
  • LONGLAC: May 21 and  May 23
  • BEARDMORE: May 27
  • RURAL WEST & RURAL EAST (Camp 25): May 29
  • NAKINA: May 30
  • RURAL EAST (Caramat): May 31
All waste materials MUST BE SEPARATED according to type and neatly organized.

Waste items ACCEPTED in the expanded curbside waste collection include:

  • Type 1 - Recyclables (i.e. scrap metal, appliances, electronic waste, and tires)
    • All appliances containing Freon MUST be tagged with a Freon Tag, available for purchase at any Municipal Ward Office.
  • Type 2 - Household items (i.e. furniture and mattresses)
  • Type 3 - Bagged/bundled yard waste

Items NOT ACCEPTED in the expanded curbside waste collection include:

  • Demolition materials (i.e. shingles, dismantled sheds, asphalt, and concrete)
  • Household hazardous waste (i.e. paint and fertilizers)
  • Felled trees

Please place eligible items neatly and separated by type, at the curbside by 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.

ANY WASTE NOT COMPLYING WITH THE ABOVE WILL NOT BE PICKED UP TRUCKS WILL NOT RETURN AND OWNERS  WILL BE RESONSIBLE FOR the appropriate DISPOSAL

Various Public Works equipment will be used during the collection to keep recyclable waste (electronics, tires, metal, appliances) separate.     

Once collection is completed by area, no further pickups will be conducted.

Please be aware that it may take more than one day per area, depending on the volume of waste to be picked up.
