The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has issued a Bulletin regarding the condition of Rural Access Roads in our District. Please read the information provided and exercise caution.

Use Caution when Travelling on Resource Access Roads

Nipigon-Geraldton District

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry advises that due to the spring thaw, road washouts are occurring on some roads in the Nipigon-Geraldton District.

The public is asked to exercise caution when traveling on these roads. Water on the road, washouts and heavy rutting pose a risk to traveler safety. The public should avoid travelling on unfamiliar roads or crossing any submerged roadbeds. Barricades will be erected at roads where known washouts or dangerous driving conditions have been observed.

To report a new or potential road washout, please contact the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office in the Nipigon-Geraldton District at 807-853-1701.
