The Municipality of Greenstone would like to remind community groups and event organizers that applications for grants, staffing support, and municipal resources (including facilities) must be submitted for approval before your event takes place. Applications received after an event cannot be considered.

The Grants and Resource Allocation Policy helps ensure municipal funds, staff time, and equipment are shared fairly across the community.

Key Things to Know:

  • All financial requests go to Council for approval.

  • In-kind requests (like tents, facilities, staff support, or equipment):

    • Under $5,000 may be approved by staff, with Council notified.

    • Over $5,000 or those needing extra budget must be approved by Council.

  • Applying early gives staff time to:

    • Plan and determine if resources are available

    • Find staff to work overtime if required

    • Prepare a report for a scheduled Council Meeting

Community groups are encouraged to review the full policy and submit their applications well in advance of their event.

The Municipality has contributed over $75,000 in cash and over $35,000 in in-kind support to local organizations and community events to date for 2025.
