The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) has issued a swimming advisory after water samples taken August 6, 2025 from the Geraldton Waterfront have come back with elevated levels of E. coli. Swimming in water that contains higher levels of E. coli increases the risk of developing minor skin, eye, ear, nose and throat infections, or gastrointestinal illness. An update will be provided once the TBDHU advises that the risk of elevated levels of E. coli is no longer valid.
