Province Investing over 3.6 Million for Critical Water Infrastructure in Greenstone

Hon. Kevin Holland announces major investment in Greenstone.

The Municipality of Greenstone welcomed the Honourable Kevin Holland, MPP for Thunder Bay–Atikokan, to Geraldton on May 1 to announce a significant provincial investment supporting critical water infrastructure in Greenstone.

The Ontario government is investing up to $3,662,526 for the rehabilitation of Centennial Drive Storm Sewer. The funding comes from the province’s Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program’s Health and Safety Water Stream (MHIP-HSWS).

“This investment will help ensure residents in Greenstone continue to have access to safe, reliable drinking water while supporting local growth and development,” said the Honourable Kevin Holland, MPP for Thunder Bay Atikokan. “Investing in critical water infrastructure is essential to protecting public health, enabling housing, and supporting long-term economic growth in our community.”
”Today’s announced investment in Centennial Drive will help rehabilitate failing infrastructure in order to continue to deliver safe, clean drinking water while making much needed improvements to drainage in the area,” said Mayor McPherson. “Provincial support is integral in making these projects happen.”

Municipal Officials expressed their appreciation for Mr. Holland’s visit to Greenstone and for the Province’s continued investment and commitment to rural and northern communities.
