Groundbreaking Marks Next Phase of the Corridor to Prosperity

The Municipality of Greenstone was pleased to take part in a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the upcoming upgrades to Anaconda Road and Painter Lake Road, marking the next phase of the Corridor to Prosperity initiative.

The ceremony was held at the Maun Road Aggregates site and brought together provincial, Indigenous and municipal leaders to recognize this important investment in regional infrastructure.

Greg Rickford, Minister of Indigenous Affairs and First Nations Economic Reconciliation and Minister Responsible for Ring of Fire Economic and Community Partnerships and Aroland First Nation Chief Sonny Gagnon spoke at the ceremony about the importance of improved transportation infrastructure and the opportunities these investments can help create for communities across the region.

Representing the Municipality of Greenstone were Mayor McPherson, Councillor Mannisto and Councillor Pietsch.

The upgrades to Anaconda Road and Painter Lake Road represent another important step in advancing the Corridor to Prosperity. Improvements to these key transportation routes will help strengthen regional connectivity, improve access and support continued economic development and future opportunities throughout Greenstone and neighbouring First Nations.

The Municipality of Greenstone is pleased to see this next phase move forward and recognizes the importance of continued collaboration between municipalities, First Nations, the Province of Ontario and regional partners as investments in Northern Ontario's transportation network continue.
