Capital Project Update - Geraldton Community Centre Renovation
Great progress is being made at the Geraldton Community Centre, with the renovation project now more than 50% complete!
Recent progress includes:
- New arena boards being installed
- Construction started on the new accessible main entrance
- Energy-efficient LED lighting upgrades underway, with more to come
- Wood wall finishes replaced with fire-rated gyproc and painted
- Additional facility and infrastructure improvements still to come
The project remains on track with no delays to the upcoming ice season are expected. Finishing touch ups will occur throughout the facility after ice season starts with completion expected by March 31, 2027.
The Municipality appreciates everyone’s patience and cooperation as work continues. We look forward to seeing these improvements come together and providing a safer, more accessible and modern Community Centre for years to come!
This project is supported by a $749,050 investment from the Ontario government through the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (CSRIF) as part of the larger $1.5 million renovation initiative.
