2026 - 2030 Election Compliance Audit Committee
The Municipality of Greenstone is inviting residents to apply for appointment to the Election Compliance Audit Committee (Committee) for the 2026–2030 Term of Council.
The Committee is required by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 to consider requests from electors requesting audits of candidates' campaign finances. The Committee may be required to appoint auditors and determine if legal proceedings are required as a result of the auditors' reports.
Applicants with a background in accounting, auditing, law, election administration, and/or public administration are preferred. The ideal candidate should have:
- demonstrated knowledge and understanding of municipal election campaign financing rules;
- proven analytical and decision-making skills;
- experience working on committees, task forces or similar;
- demonstrated knowledge of quasi-judicial proceedings;
- availability and willingness to attend meetings;
- excellent oral and written communication skills.
Applicants cannot be candidates in 2026 Municipal Election nor can they have committed to providing professional advice to any person running for office in the Municipality of Greenstone 2026 Election. Applicants cannot be Members of Council, or current employees of the Municipality of Greenstone.
The Committee's term of office is four (4) years, beginning on November 15, 2026. Successful applicants will receive a retainer of $100.00 for the term. Each Meeting attended would be eligible for a $150.00 per diem, plus applicable travel expenses in relation to where the Member resides in Greenstone and where the Meeting is being held in accordance with the Municipal Travel and Expense Reimbursement Policy.
