Significant Weather Event Declared Ended – Ongoing Cleanup Continues
The Municipality of Greenstone has declared the end of the Significant Weather Event under Policy 23-82.
While the event has concluded, significant cleanup operations are still required because of the recent weather conditions. Snow removal and road maintenance will continue over the coming days, and residents should expect that it will take time to fully restore conditions across the municipality.
Public Works crews remain actively engaged in cleanup efforts, including widening roads, clearing snowbanks, and improving visibility. Residents are asked to be mindful of snow piles, watch for working snow removal equipment, and exercise extra caution when travelling or moving around municipal roads and sidewalks.
Now that the Significant Weather Event has ended, Minimum Maintenance Standards apply, and the Municipality will work diligently to meet these standards as weather and conditions permit.
The Municipality thanks residents for their continued patience and cooperation and reminds everyone to remain cautious as cleanup operations continue.
*Most roads in Greenstone are classified as Class 5 or 6 (with Class 6 having no defined maintenance standard). We have a few Class 4 roads, but none classified as Class 1, 2, or 3.
