Forest Fire Update: What Residents Should Know

The Municipality of Greenstone continues to monitor the evolving forest fire situation across Northwestern Ontario in coordination with our emergency management partners.

At this time, there is no evacuation order or evacuation alert in effect for the Municipality of Greenstone. However, the current wildfire season remains active, with extreme fire conditions across much of the region. Effective July 15, 2026, the Ministry of Natural Resources has implemented a Restricted Fire Zone that includes Greenstone. This means all open-air burning is prohibited, including campfires, for the duration of the order.
