Notice of A DECISION

RESPECTING A ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT by

the Corporation of the Municipality of Greenstone

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Greenstone has passed By-Law No. 26-24 on May 11, 2026, under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13.

AND TAKE NOTICE that the written and oral submissions received relating to this application have been, on balance, taken into consideration as part of the deliberations and final decision related to the approval of the application as amended, including matters raised in those submissions and identified within Staff Report PPS 119-26 and 075-26.

THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of By-Law 26-24 is to amend By-Law 23-77 to address various housekeeping amendments, to re-zone 10 municipally-owned and privately-owned properties to a Residential Multiple (R2) Exception Zone and to re-zone 6 municipally-owned and privately-owned properties to correct mapping errors in the Zoning Schedules and to better reflect existing uses on these properties.

IF YOU WISH TO APPEAL the decision of the Municipality of Greenstone to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) in respect to the By-Law you may do so within twenty (20) days of the issuance of this notice by filing a Notice of Appeal via the OLT e-file at https://olt.gov.on.ca/e-file-service/ by selecting Greenstone, Municipality of as the Approval Authority or by mail to the Clerk – Municipality of Greenstone, no later than 4:00 p.m. on or before June 1, 2026. The filing of an appeal after 4:00 p.m., in person or electronically, will be deemed to have been received the next business day. If the e-file portal is down, you can submit your appeal to: Kristina.miousse@greenstone.ca Please consult the Ontario Land Tribunal’s website (https://olt.gov.on.ca/) or call 1-866-448-2248 for further information regarding how to file an appeal.

WHO CAN FILE AN APPEAL Pursuant to Section 34(19) of the Planning Act R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, a Notice of Appeal may be filed to the OLT by the following parties:

·      The Applicant;

·      A specified person who, prior to Council’s decision, made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the Council of the Municipality of Greenstone;

·      A public body who, prior to Council’s decision, made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the Council of the Municipality of Greenstone;

·      The registered owner who, prior to Council’s decision, made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the Council of the Municipality of Greenstone;

·      The Minister.

 

No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the by-law was passed, the person or public body made oral submissions at the public meeting or written submissions to the Council of the Municipality of Greenstone or, in the opinion of the OLT, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

 

The Notice of Appeal must:

     i.        set out reasons for the appeal;

    ii.        be accompanied by the fee of $1,100.00 (or as otherwise prescribed by the OLT) per application, payable online though OLT e-file or by certified cheque or money order to the Minister of Finance.
