Driveway Curb Cuts

If you require the removal of the roadside curb to create or widen your driveway entrance, you will need approval from the Municipality of Greenstone.

How to apply

To begin the process, please complete the Application for Driveway Curb Cut form and submit it to the Greenstone Administration Office:

Fees

If there are no existing mountable barriers at property access points, we will provide one standard curb cut at no cost to the owner of a residential or commercial lot.

If you're widening an existing entrance, you will be responsible for the full cost of the project including materials and labour. Contact us for a cost estimate.

Driveway curb cut guidelines

When planning your driveway entrance, please follow these guidelines:

• You will need Municipal approval for any construction work that impacts a municipal curb.
• To qualify for free curb cuts during new construction, the driveway must be at least three metres in width by five metres in length, and fit one vehicle
• The driveway should not overlap onto municipal property such as boulevards
• If a drainage ditch is present, we will review the need for a culvert and determine costs
• Applications should include measurement details in the sketch
• Approved requests will proceed as priority work schedules allow
