Official Plan

An Official Plan is a document that outlines strategic goals, objectives and policies for growth and development in the Municipality of Greenstone. View the Ontario's Land Use Planning Guide for more information.

The current Official Plan for the Municipality of Greenstone was approved on November 15, 2022.  This Official Plan for the Municipality of Greenstone repeals all former plans.

Within a plan you will find details on how we plan to use and manage our land. This includes consideration of physical changes to the built environment, and the effects it may have on our natural, social and economic environment.

Updates

As required by the Planning Act we review and update the plan every five years to:

• Meet the needs of our community
• Consider provincial interests (e.g., protecting ecological systems, conservation of mineral aggregate resources, appropriate locations of growth and development)
• It is consistent with Provincial Policy Statement (PPS)
