Longlac Summerfest

Summerfest in Longlac When: July 19th to 22nd Where: Throughout Longlac The Longlac Summerfest is held every third weekend in July at the Riverview Lakeside. Summerfest is known for its world famous beef on the bun which is slowly roasted (3am start) to perfection. Summerfest also has a fish fry Friday night and a live band that plays under the tent. There’s a baseball tournament with two divisions; slow pitch and lob ball. Saturday morning there is a parade; kids decorate their bikes, four wheelers, anything on wheels basically and business’ hand out candy.

Caramat Fish Derby

Caramat Fish Derby. When: July 13th to 15th Where: Caramat Community Centre The Caramat Fish Derby is the longest running fish derby in Ontario. The derby has been running for over 60 years. It is not a catch and release derby as you can fish any lake in Ontario for Lake Trout, Brook Trout, Walleye and Northern Pike. The weigh-in takes place on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. There is also, a baseball tournament, a dance with DJ Robert Gagnon, as well as festival tents and local venders all weekend.

Nakina's 95th Anniversary

Please come and help celebrate our 95th Anniversary!! Our schedule will be out soon announcing all events and times. Friday night is the licensed Open Mic Talent Show at the Complex Hall from 8 to 12- so come and share your music with us!! Saturday the Parade starts at 11 followed by the Thunder Bay Pipes and Drums Performance and then free lunch for all . Saturday afternoon at 2 the Seniors are sponsoring Carpet Bowling on the curling ice surface. Saturday night from 8 to 1 is the dance with the Sensational Hot Rods and the Hoolies at the Rec. Centre.

Mother's Day Craft & Vendor Fair

Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School in Longlac will be hosting a Mother's Day Craft & Vendor Fair on Sunday, May 6th from 12pm to 4pm. This is a school organized event, which will feature all kinds of handmade crafts, and vendor booths. There will be a canteen and door prizes. We will have face painting, and Mother's Day card making for the kids. It will be fun for children and adults alike. Moosecalac

Moosecalac When: February 15th to 18th Where: Longlac Sportsplex Moosecalac is a community festival held annually in February in Longlac on the Family Day Weekend. The main activity is the hockey tournament that attracts around 25 Mens and Ladies teams each year. With only one rink, the schedule is quite busy and comes close to playing hockey around the clock. The event is all for Charity and all funds raised go support Sick Children and local Kid’s activities in Greenstone.
