The Municipality operates various Resource/Ontario Early Years programs for children, Parents and Caregivers. The programs provide support, learning opportunities and social interaction for families and caregivers. The Centres are a friendly supportive meeting place with environments where adults and children can play together, meet new friends, gain new skills and share ideas.
Some of the programs offered include:
- daily playgroups
- toy/book/video lending libraries
- resource and equipment lending libraries
- relief care
- workshops and information sessions
- family social events
- and a child care registry.
Currently there are in-house programs in Geraldton and Beardmore. Francophone services are also offered in Geraldton. The Municipality has a Purchase of Service Agreement with the Nakina Heritage Corporation for services in Nakina. Outreach programming is available to the rural areas based on community need.
