The goal of the Ontario Works Program is to assist people in their shortest route to employment. The program includes available benefits to assist recipients in accessing training and resources to assist them in becoming more employable. People receiving social assistance must be working towards becoming more employable and finding paid employment.  There are mandatory participation requirements and eligibility for financial assistance is based on active participation in one or more employment based programs.  Participants develop their Participation Agreements with their Caseworker and plans are based on each participant's individual situation.
