Second Silver Medal for the Geraldton Pee Wee Goldminers
The Geraldton Goldminers, Pee Wee division went to their last tournament for this hockey season on the weekend of March 8 to 11, 2007 in Thunder Bay for the annual Norwest Tournament. On Thursday afternoon, the Goldminers tied up with the Fort Frances Oddfellows with 3 goals each. The Goldminers played two games on Friday, playing the Neebing Wild and the Ignace Phantoms, winning both of these games. They played the Norwest Stars on Saturday morning beating them 6 – 5. Geraldton Pee Wee was now in first place by only a close margin coming down to goals for and goals against. They had to be up bright and early Sunday morning to play the semi final game against Ignace where the Goldminers came out ahead with a 4 – 2 win. The final game had them facing Fort Frances once again, the Oddfellows came on top with a 5 – 4 score.
