2007 Northwestern Ontario Bantam Curling Championships


The 2007 Northwestern Ontario Bantam Curling Championships were held at the Geraldton Curling Club Feb. 2-4.  Four boys’ teams and four girls’ teams took part in the double round robin competition for curlers aged 16 and under. 

In the girls competition, teams from the Port Arthur Curling Club skipped by Kourtni Kilpatrick and Kristi-Ann Taylor dominated the event.  Myles Stevens, also of the Port Arthur Curling Club, led his team to a perfect 5-0 record in the boys division.  The Geraldton team skipped by Kristofer Leupen, defeated Nipigon 5-3 in a tight contest on Sunday morning to finish in second place. 

The top two boys and girls team now advance to the Northern Ontario Provincial Championships to be held in Kapuskasing February 15 – 18.
