Sidewalks
Sidewalks in commercial areas will be given first priority and will be plowed within 24 hours of a major snowfall event. It will be considered acceptable if all other sidewalks are plowed within 48 hours of a major snowfall event. Sidewalks will be sanded when in the opinion of the Sector Foreman there is a clear risk of accident due to icy conditions.
Parking
Parking on any road during a major snowstorm is prohibited. Vehicle owners should make every attempt to have stalled or stuck vehicles moved. Sector Foreman have the authority to call for a tow truck to move a vehicle, at the owner’s expense, should the vehicle be deemed to be a deterrent in clearing the road of snow.
Homeowner/Contractor Snow Removal
It is prohibited to put any snow or ice on the surface of the traveled portion of any road. If any person puts an obstruction on a road which renders it unsuitable for travel or creates a hazardous condition, he shall be liable for all damages and costs which the Municipality shall be compelled to pay any person injured by such obstruction. The individual or contractor will be given 24 hours to remove the obstructions after which time the Municipality will do the work and bill the individual.
Seniors/Disabled Services
The Municipality offers snow removal services for private driveway windrows at roadside for all seniors and disabled citizens who request this service. Windrow removal will be conducted after all regular winter maintenance operations required for Priority 3 Roads in urban areas have been addressed. The target for windrow removal completion is within 48 hours of a major snowfall. In urban areas this work may be done between midnight and 8:00 a.m. In rural areas, this work will be done when the contractor is in the area. All seniors/disabled wishing to use this service must sign an application form and provide proof that they are 65 years of age or older, or proof of disability. This service is to be requested annually.

All Municipal cemeteries will be maintained to a minimum snow plowing standard except for the periods immediately prior to and through the following holidays:
· Thanksgiving
· Weekend prior to Christmas Eve through weekend following New Year’s day &
