The Greenstone Datacentre and websites (including the Greenstone Community Portal) has moved locations, and therefore made changes to various internet settings.

The first show in the Geraldton Children's Entertainment Series will take place on
Saturday October 23 at the Geraldton High School at 2:00.

It will feature Ache Brasil -- a fusion of Brazilian music, dance, and martial arts in a high energy and colourful performance.
Although part of the children's series this is truly  family entertainment for all.

Tickets available at Val's Variety, the Dental Office, or at the door for $10.00 each or get all 4 shows this year for $30.00."
 

Our club heavily depends on the sale of these trail permits, about 80% collected from each permit is used to pay for Fuel and Maintenance of the groomer.

Canuck Amusements

  Another major investment at the E. Ruddick airport for airside development is underway. 

Representation from Council was made to three Provincial Ministers in mid-August at the annual AMO Conference when they were presented with two briefs addressing electricity to The Ring of Fire.  Our request to both Ministers described in the briefs reads:

That the Minister take all actions necessary to ensure the construction within 3 years of a new transmission line from Cameron Falls to Nakina, in an already existing transmission corridor, to provide the electricity necessary to meet the electric arc furnace requirements at the Nakina site, And that the Minister work with the Premier and Cabinet to provide electricity costing for this project competitive with adjacent provinces.

The Nakina Volunteer Fire Department will soon have it’s new Rescue Unit Vehicle as it is being retrofitted with the necessary new equipment. The total cost of the rescue vehicle will be approximately $60,000.

Congratulations to Magali Roy and the supporters of the CornFest sponsored by Le Club Francais. While the crowd wasn’t huge, the spirit was gigantic.

Because of the contruction currently taking place in the building, there is a new entrance to access the Geraldton Pool. Simply follow the road around to the track & field parking lot and enter the building from there (as shown in the image below, click to enlarge). This is in effect until the end of the 2010 pool season, and we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Geraldton Pool is participating in Drowning Prevention Week. They are raising money to go directly to the Water Smart Drowning Prevention campaign, more specifically the Swim to Survive program. On Friday July 23rd, from 1:30 until 2:30, come swim a couple laps for a good cause! It's free to anyone willing to swim 3 laps of the Geraldton Pool (length or width).

Greenstone is pleased to welcome Brent Henley to assist in further unlocking Greenstone’s tourism potential. Mr. Henley joins us as the successful “Tourism Intern” candidate for a one-year internship. 

The Geraldton Pool will open for the season on Monday, May 17, 2010.  There are new programs coming, as well as the favourites.  Check it out ~ there is something for everyone!

The Geraldton Children's Entertainment Series will be presenting Norman Foote in concert on January 30th at 6:30 at the Geraldton High School.  This award winning children's entertainer is known for his song writing, outrageous props, and sense of humour.  Tickets are available at Val's Variety or the Geraldton Dental Office

Thanks to a grant from the Thunder Bay District Health Unit's Take Heart Program, a free snack will be provided at the skate.....click on the link for details!  The canteen will be open for supper in Geraldton with meals to purchase.  Check out their daily special!
