The Greenstone Datacentre and websites (including the Greenstone Community Portal) has moved locations, and therefore made changes to various internet settings.

Here’s a video created by Gabriel Harpelle, a videographer from Thunder Bay. Gabriel follows Julien Beaulieu and Mikaël Lemieux of Greenstone as they take footage, riding around Longlac with their snowmobiles and talk about the risks associated with such an extreme sport.

The Mo, slang for moustache, and November come together each year for Movember.

The first show in the Geraldton Children's Entertainment Series will take place on
Saturday October 23 at the Geraldton High School at 2:00.

It will feature Ache Brasil -- a fusion of Brazilian music, dance, and martial arts in a high energy and colourful performance.
Although part of the children's series this is truly  family entertainment for all.

Tickets available at Val's Variety, the Dental Office, or at the door for $10.00 each or get all 4 shows this year for $30.00."
 

Our club heavily depends on the sale of these trail permits, about 80% collected from each permit is used to pay for Fuel and Maintenance of the groomer.

Canuck Amusements

  Another major investment at the E. Ruddick airport for airside development is underway. 

Representation from Council was made to three Provincial Ministers in mid-August at the annual AMO Conference when they were presented with two briefs addressing electricity to The Ring of Fire.  Our request to both Ministers described in the briefs reads:

That the Minister take all actions necessary to ensure the construction within 3 years of a new transmission line from Cameron Falls to Nakina, in an already existing transmission corridor, to provide the electricity necessary to meet the electric arc furnace requirements at the Nakina site, And that the Minister work with the Premier and Cabinet to provide electricity costing for this project competitive with adjacent provinces.

The Nakina Volunteer Fire Department will soon have it’s new Rescue Unit Vehicle as it is being retrofitted with the necessary new equipment. The total cost of the rescue vehicle will be approximately $60,000.

Congratulations to Magali Roy and the supporters of the CornFest sponsored by Le Club Francais. While the crowd wasn’t huge, the spirit was gigantic.

After looking at potential projects, the GLAC identified several which would assist these affected workers in obtaining on-the-job experience and would benefit our communities. The GLAC contacted the MNR, the Municipality of Greenstone and the Kenogamisis Fish & Game/Sno club to discuss these potential projects.

Greenstone's Wilderness Adventure Trails offer hikers a chance to see a different perspective of Greenstone...

A group of energetic people in Greenstone have formed together into a group of fun, active people looking for a bit of a challenge.

Greenstone Bike and Hike is a new club and website ( http://bikeandhike.greenstone.ca ) developed as a way for the people of Greenstone's communities to become active, re-discover land adventures and build friendships.

Main Street was overtaken on the evening of Friday June 20th for the inaugural Geraldton Walleye Classic Parade of Boats. The overwhelming participation of 32 angling teams and hundreds spectators, created quite a buzz throughout the Greenstone region.
