Geraldton Community Forest (GCF) was established in 1993 to further the concept of sustainable forest management and to seek out employment opportunities supporting local economies.
GCF employs and trains over 200 skilled workers from the area including several First Nations communities during peak times of the year providing forest fire services to the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources.
GEOMA, the GIS division of GCF has established itself as a major driving force in the GIS industry providing services throughout Ontario. The information technology department in conjunction with GEOMA has implemented cutting edge technologies and a variety of innovative products enhancing the way data is archived, displayed and distributed to the world.
From community portals and online web mapping applications to tourism and silvicultural projects, GCF continues to grow from its forestry roots.
