Special Meetings of Council
Special Meetings (with a specific topic that needs to be discussed) are held the first Monday of each month.
Regular Meetings of Council
Regular Council Meetings are held every second and fourth Monday of each month.
Special Meetings of Council
The Mayor may at any time call a Special Meeting.
The Clerk shall call a Special Meeting at the request of a majority of Council.
Twenty-four hours notice must be given for any Special Meeting.
Only business given with the notice of the meeting shall be dealt with at that meeting.
Public Hearings
From time to time, public hearings shall be called in accordance with current legislation to deal with specific matters that are of special interest to persons and organizations such as matters pertaining to the Ontario Planning Act.
Notice of the public hearing shall be published in the local print media and posted in all Municipal offices.
Only business given with the notice of a public hearing shall be dealt with at that public hearing.
Place and Time of Meetings
Council meetings are held in the Greenstone Council Chambers, 1800 Main Street in Geraldton at 6:30 p.m.
Council may from time to time, change the location of a Council meeting to a site within the Municipality. Notice of the meeting change will be published in the local print media and a notice will be posted in all Municipal offices.
Please contact the Clerk or your local Ward Office to confirm the date and time of the next meeting of Council.
When the day for a meeting of Council is a public or a civic holiday, Council shall meet at the same hour on the following day which is not a public or a civic holiday.
