Greenstone's Communities

The Greenstone Region is quite the remarkable place.  Not only does the region encompass spectacular geographic features, such as the Eastern shores of Lake Nipigon, the Palisade Cliffs, and numerous waterfalls, there are also eight communities that have flourished from marketing the available resources.

Since there is such a diversity of resources within the Greenstone Region, communities were established where the desired resources were.  Mining, logging, fur trading, and commercial fishing are a few examples of resources which allowed for communities to take hold and prosper.  The rail line and elaborate river systems were essential for transporting Greenstone's resources to the world markets.

Each one of the eight communities in the region have their own stories and historical background on how they came to exist.
